Computer teams negotiations

Computer teams are now able to buy and sell players. The logic is not very complex as our intention is to focus on managed teams and make computer teams just do the basic stuff. That doesn't mean they won't try to improve their squad over time, of course.

A computer team trasfer lists players when it considers it has more players than it needs for a specific position. On the other hand, it will try to buy players to improve the squad when its economic situation is good enough and it finds a player whose price won't put the team's economy at risk.

Back in the Soccersim days, AI managed teams weren't selling their superstar players at considerably more than their natural values even when you had HUGE bids from several teams. You guys think that this would be a solvable problem within Ruby?

The way things are now you can only buy transfer listed players and you have to pay the value their team is asking for. The only negotiable thing is the player's wage and contract length. With the addition of contract clauses in future versions this may change...or not :-)

So you should have about 168 beta spots open for when the game is ready to be tested?

any idea if you'll be filling all of those spots up? Has anyone shown interest?

the truth is that we will have to wait until beta. no way to perform a good measure before that. if we need more teams, we can reset and add them later. but we will sure have a good number, so i dont see a reason to worry for now.

but if you asked about the filling criteria, this is what will happen:
the spots will be filled without our interference. the users will signup and try to get a team to manage.

Can you guarantee the guys who post here and help with suggestions a spot on beta?

Would be nice if you could,

Best wishes,

Danilo, many thanks to you (as well as everybody who is contributing) for being able to guarantee spots for the people who post. It's a very nice gesture.

What Danilo meant is that we'll have enough teams for everybody and if they're over we simply add some more in a new dimension (gameworld).

Anyway, here will be the first place where we'll announce the game start, so people who access the blog frequently will have enough time to choose a team.

If you're still not confident you'll manage to get a team we can discuss another way to handle beta sign up.

Cheers.
